SCATTERED SHOWERS. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 14. An anti-cyclone covers Eastern Australia and the north Tasman Sea. A westerly depression is developing in the south Tasman. Forecast. Gradually freshening north-west to west winds, later becoming strong in exposed position. Weather: Fair at first, but with scattered showers developing in and west of the ranges. Moderate temperatures. Seas moderate to rather rough. LIGHT FROST RECORDED. . The minimum grass, temperature registered at the Palmerston North Bovs’ High School, last night, was 31 degrees, equal to one degree of frost. RIVER GAUGE. Noon. —4ft. 3in.
