LONDON, May 13. The King has approved that a viseountey be conferred on Sir John Simon. Sir John Simon, who has just vacated the post of Chancellor of the Exchequer, ■was a brilliant barrister before ho entered politics. He is a former Foreign Secretary (1931-35), Attorney-General (1913-lb), and Home Secretary (1915-16 and 1935-37). In the latter period lie was DeputyLeader of tiie House of Commons. lie was Leader of the National Liberals.
