DELAY IN ASSEMBLY.

MR HAMILTON PROTESTS. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 11. The Leader of the Opposition (Hon. Adam Hamilton) has sent a telegram to the Prime Minister (Hon. P. Eraser) entering an emphatic protest against the continued postponement and delay iir calling Parliament together. In reply, the Prime Minister has sent the following telegram—- ' “I have received your telegram and have taken particular notice of your emphatic protest in reference to the date of the opening of Parliament. The Government are just as emphatically of opinion that the date fixed is the most suitable one. In the meantime I will be very pleased to discuss matters relating to New Zealand’s war effort', and the . present war situation generally with you at your convenience. Regards.”
