SICK AND WOUNDED APPEAL.
- FURTHER DONATIONS. It is probable that never before in New Zealand, even in the days of the last war, has there been such a fully national patriotic elfort as the £250,000 appeal-for the sick, wounded and distressed men of the forces, which was launched throughout New Zealand this week. This effort is sponsored by the Joint Council of the New Zealand Red Cross Society and the Order of. St. John, and, in stressing the fact that the administration of the fund is to be non-politi-cal and nori-Governmeiital, the promoters point out that the two organisations have pooled their resources for the campaign, and in future will work as a joint council.
