GENERAL NEWS.
ROAD CYCLING. The Feilding Amateur Cycling Club’s I road race around the Makino block On Saturday was won by M. M'cCardle, J. Allen being second and L. Harnett third. There wore four starters. Power Extension. Air AY. A. Waters (chief engineer) reported to the Manawatu-Oroua Power Board yesterday that a shipment of 194 poles arrived last week. These poles are for Ridge Road and other work on hand. Before the arrival of this shipment'the board had used all the 35ft poles in stock on the Feeding borough work. The permit to proceed with the Ridge Road work has been received and a start is being made with the job. Allythe material required is on hand, but the hoard is down to short supplies on some items. Lectures in First Aid. The Red Cross Society, Feilding branch, announces that lectures in first aid commence in St. Paul’s Hall to-morrow evening at 7.30 o’clock. All members and intending members are invited to attend. Physical Culture. - 1 By advertisement in this issue Air E. IT. Pike, secretary and instructor of the Feilding Physical Culture and Amateur Wrestliilg Club, reminds members and intending members that classes commence on Thursday evening.
