RURAL HOUSING.
HOROWENUA COUNCIL’S ACTION. At the meeting of the Horowlienua County Council on Saturday the report of the finance committee into the Rural Housing Act, 1939, was presented. It stated that after careful consideration of the Act and consultation with a representative of the State Advances Corporation the committpe recommended: (1) That steps be taken by the’council to operate the provisions of the Act in the county; and (2) that application be made to the Local Government Loans Board lor ail initial loan authorisation of £IO,OOO.
