ST. JOHN AMBULANCE.
CADET DIVISION. ' At a meeting of the St. John Ambulance cadets the inspection was taken by the superintendent (Mr Stevenson) and the ambulance officer (Mr Ayson;. The first- of a series of lectures from the senior book, “First Aid to the Injured,was given by Mr Stevenson, covering the outline and principles of first aid, the human body, and the treatment of shock. Practical instruction was given in the use and application of bandages. The cadets assembled on Sunday morning, together with other divisions of the St. John Ambulance Brigade, to attend a church parade. This Week’s “Do'n’ts”.—Don’t attempt to reduce a dislocation; keep the patient in the most comfortable position;. don’t seach for foreign bodies that cannot be seen lying loose in a wound; don’t use your thumb to feel the pulse; there is a pulse in the thumb •
