TRADE RELATIONS.
BRITAIN AND RUSSIA. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, May 9. Referring to trade relations between Britain and Russia, Mr R. A. Butler, in the House of Commons, said the British Government had under consideration a communication received on April 29 from the Soviet and had now asked to be furnished with further information so as to judge whether the obligations undertaken by the Soviet would render it possible for that Government at present to conclude a trade agreement with the United Kingdom on lines which His Majesty’s Government had in mind. In another reply, Mr Butler said the discussions between representatives of the British and Italian Governments were continuing and it was hoped they would lead to useful results.
