OBITUARY

MR HUGH HALL. Mr Hugh Hall,' whose death occurred suddenly at the residence of his daughter, Mrs W. G. Clapham, of Kiwitea, was one of the earliest settlers in the Coal Creek block, Pohangina, having taken up land with his brother, Mr Samuel Hall, of Kimbolton, in that district 4.6 years ago. Born in County Antrim, Ireland, the deceased gentleman went to Australia 52 years ago and six years later came to New Zealand. His marriage took place in Melbourne several years before he came to the Dominion. Mr Hall was well-known in the Pohangina and Kimbolton districts, and prior to his retirement ho was farming in conjunction with his brother at Kimbolton. Mrs W. G. Clapham is the only daughter, while Mrs Welsh, of Marton, is a sister. The sympathy of many friends has been extended to Mrs Hall and the bereaved family.
