DUTCH ROMANCE.
Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, May 9. A Dutch girl to marry a Dutch boy at St. David’s Presbyterian Church, Petoue, on May 18, arrived in Auckland. The romance started in Holland. The prospective bridegroom, Mr CL Valdwyk, met his bride, Aliss A. Metz. They travel south to-night. Mr \ aldwvk arrived in New Zealand in June as one of five carpenters selected as the advance guard of a migration scheme sponsored by the Dutch and the New Zealand Governments. Tie has been employed on State building protects. Although these carpenters have made good, the scheme is not likely to he extended’until after the war. Miss Metz was the only passenger on the New. Zealand ship,-/ At she wits unable to speak Englulv, so von see I had plenty 'of chances to learn. I had no choice but to. speak English,” she said, with only a slight trace of accent. -
