MART ON-, May 7. Mr and Mrs H. H. Richardson have returned from a visit to Wellington. Mr J. Mogridge, senr., and Mr and Mrs F. A. Hcmpleman have recently been visiting Wellington. Mr F. T. Harper is, attending the annual conference of the Now Zealand Educational Institute at Wellington. Mrs Harper is spending the school holidays in Christchurch. Mr and Mrs J. Kilpatrick, Station Street, have returned to Marton after a holiday in the Taranaki district. At the annual meeting of the .'resuscitated Marton Municipal Band, on Monday, Mr G. Denbow presided. The statement' of accounts submitted showed a credit balance of £6 12s 7d. - The election of officers resulted: Patron, Mr F. Purnell; president, Mi- G. Lampp; vice-presidents, i 5 were appointed; conductor, Mr A. E. S. Crozicr; bandmaster, Mr W. Setford; band sergeant, Mr G. H. Denbow; secretary, Mr S. R. L. Hurley; treasurer, Mr Denbow; auditor, Mr J. B. Thorp; custodian, Mr C. Marsdcn; committee, Messrs F._ Johnstone, O Brabyn and officers ex-officio. The appointment of a drum-major was referred committee.
