PROVISION FOR ASSISTANCE. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 8. The conference of the New Zealand Educational Institute carried a resolution to make provision to assist enlisted teachers and their dependants and also during'the war for the .entire profits of the teachers’ group assurance scheme to l>e used to assist dependants of institute members serving in the forces either at home or abroad. In the discussion it was stated that New Zealanders as a whole, and teachers in particular, had need to realise what they were up against. Others agreed on the need for a greater effort, but took exception to the suggestion that teachers were not playing their part.
