NAPOLEON’S LETTER.
Received May 8, 10.15 a.m . ' PARIS, May 7. Napoleon’s famous letter inviting the Empress Josephine to join him at Milan has been sold at auction for £3BB.
Tlie Empress Josephine, who Avis formerly married to the Viscount <lc Beauliarnnlo, was married to Napoleon Buonaparte ia 1796 just-, before he left for the Italian expedition. She was crowned Empress in 1804. Mutual jealousies caused Napoleon to divorce her in 1810. She died in 1814.
