ATHLETICS AND CYCLING.

The committee of the Feilding Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club met on Monday, Mr A. Hendry presiding, ft was decided to ask Mr R. Loader to act as the club’s delegate on the. Cycling Centre. The club is to advise the centre that it will require a supply of petrol in connection with the road cycling season. Arrangements were made for the road seasou to commence on Saturday provided at least five competitors are prepared to start at the specified time. 2 p.m. The first race will be around the Makino block, a distance of 10 miles. On the following Saturday the race will be to Cheltenham and return, aiid the next week the route will be the Cinder Hill block. It was announced that a member of the club would be commencing military service this week, and it was decided that the president and secretary make arrangements for a suitable presentation to him.
