ROSE FOR MOTHERS’ DAY.
In spite of the many calls that, must of necessity be made on them in these days of trial and stress, the busy women of the eiiy have decided that even greater emphasis should be given to the observance of Mother’s Day in this centennial year. And so for the past ten clays or so representatives of various women’s organisations have been busily engaged, in making white roses which will be sold in the city streets on Friday next. In order that every man, woman, and child should make this. gesture to honour “mother” the roses will be so'd for the simple price of a silver coin. The idea .of paying tribute to mothers, around whom the pivot of the home - revolves, lias been eagerly followed since its inception and the street appeal should receive the wholehearted support of citizens. Each rose bought; will bring some little comfort, to a mother in need as the i nioncv raised is to be donated to the Mayor's fund. Once more lot the slogan on Friday be, “Buy a Rose for Mother s Day.” '
