UNDER NAZI RULE.
RESENTFUL NORWEGIANS,
(From Daventry.) The Germans are not finding.-it an easy task to ruii Norway as they please. Around the capital Norwegians are forbidden to go out after dark and are forbidden to go near places where soldiers are stationed. In Oslo the German effort at window-dressing by opening cinemas and theatres lias failed. . . The Norwegians show no signs of rejoicing because the ' invaders invite them to do so, and the best cinema in Oslo was attended by only five people. Norwegians walk out of restaurants as soon as a German party enters. Oslo hospitals arc crowded with . wounded, and outside the town two big trenchdigging machines have been at work P 1 An* 1 ’announcement broadcast from the German-controlled wireless station at Oslo said that the Germans intended to set free as far as possible Norwegian prisoners of war under 16. They were considering, setting free other prisoners, especially farmers, but the announcement said that serious difficulties were arising partly because of the behaviour of a few prisoners of war and also because now and again the' civil population expressed its feelings in strong terms The Germans threaten to take Norwegian prisoners of war to Germany unless the civil population helps them to build camps for the/imprisonment of their countrymen and to help look after the prisoners.
