BRITISH TRAWLERMEN. LONDON, May 4. Trawlermcn arriving at a Scottish port related how German ’planes machine-gunned them for days. One ship with a crew of 27 was machinegunned for three davs. All escaped after the trawler sank. There was heavy gunfire in the vicinity of the Thames Estuary for 20 minutes. Fighters went out to sea. Fighter ’planes also went, up in pursuit of a ’plane flying at great height over the Shetlands.
