Y.M.C.A. HARRIERS

HANDICAP RACE. The Y.M.C.A. Harrier Club held tlieir second run of the season from the Sportsground on Saturday. The runners were divided into three packs. Each pack kept together until the three-mile mark was reached, but at this stage the fitter men began to assert themselves and the pace was fast for the remainder of the . race. The course consisted of a big stretch of road running and it ryas here that the track runners came to the fore. The first eight to finish were: K. Galloway (scf) 1, C. McVicar (6min) 2, A. Cozens (3min) 3, G. Seator (3min) 4, J. Woodd (3min) 5, D. McCardle and J. Spall (scr), equal 6, and A. Wilby (6min) 8. K. Galloway, after a season’s spell from harrier running, showed fine form. v H. McCardle and J. .Spall, the other scratch men, also ran well. A. Cozens. J... Woodd, C. McVicar, K. Woodd and G. Seator all finished well; Seator,' in particular, shows great promise. J. Roberts, W. Meder and A. Wilby, all junior runners, have plenty of stamina and should develop later. The lastunentioned runner has shown a big improvement on last year’s form. Next Saturday another pack run will .be held. - • •-
