A SUGGESTION.
. (To the Editor.) Sir,—May I offer a suggestion to those who have boys overseas. Instead of sending the full newspaper, which in riiost cases fails to reach its destination, adopt tile following plan: Take a sheet of foolscap and paste on cuttings of interest from _ the “Standard.”- Start about one-eighth of an inch from the bottom of the paper, placing the first line of cuttings across the sheet. Then continue the next set above- these, sticking the top edge of the cutting only and placing it a fraction above the first lot. By adding fresh items from time to time one can send almost one hundred news items. The whole set will look something like a fringe.. Each lot can then be lifted up. when reading the ones underneath. Post these in a large strong envelope. I -made use of this plan on previous occasions'" and it worked admirably. It lias another .advantage to recommend it—the conservation of valuable shipping space.— Yours, etc., NEWSLETTER. Palmerston North, May 4,-1940,
