INCREMENT ON WHEAT. Per Press Association. CI-IRISTCTIURCH. May 3. The Alay increment of Id. a bushel went on to wheat this week, bringing pricey to the following levels: Tuscan 5s Bd, Hunters 5s lOd, "pearl 6s, and Alarquis 6s 2d. A good inquiry continues for seed wheat for autumn sowing. There have been no developments concerning tlie Australian embargo on New Zealand potatoes, and the market is inclined to be slightly easier. Sorro inquiries have been received from tho North Island, mostly from Auckland. It is reported that local growers have been holding their potatoes on the chance of an export market. The quotation remains at up to £4 a ton at handy stations. The markets for seeds remain quiet at previous prices.
