WEDDING.

THOMSON—TUCKER. The wedding took place at St. Andrews Presbj cerian Oliurch, Palmerston North, on the evening of Saturday, April 27, of Man Joyce, daugliter or Mr and Mrs A. J. Tucker,, oi Victoria Avenue, Palmerston .'North, to Iviliiam, son of the late Mr and Mrs J . Thomson, of Timaru. Autumn powers and foliage decorated the church, and tne ceremony was performed by Rev. J. Hubhard, Mis pniniett being the organist. The service was fully choral. The bride, who was escorted by her. father, wore a parchment sills velvet period gown made on Empire lines, rile bou.ee was ruched into the centre ol the hips and the V neckline had a lace Meuici collar finished with a spray, or orange blossom. The sleeves were ruched from shoulder to wrist, finished with two points over the hands and edged with lace. A narrow panel from tile neck-line at the back widened into a long sweeping train. A filmy veil of tulle and Brussels lace, scalloped and edged with pearls, was held to the head by an irrudesceiit halo of pearls, and she - carried a shear of cream St. Joseph lilies. The matron-or-honour was Mrs W. V. Tremewan, of Wanganui, and the bridesmaid, Miss Barbara Mclnnes, of Timaru. They were dressed alike in frocks of opal green chiffon over taffeta, the bodices, which were shirred on the shoulders, falling into fully ruched corselet belts. The necklines were V-shaped back and front, and the short sleeves were shirred at the top. The long full skirts were relieved with four narrow headings at wide intervals. They wore becoming heartshaped Dolly Varden hats of cyclamen taffeta and tulle and covered with tiny velvet flowers in three shades of cyclamen. They carried shirred muffs of cyclamen taffeta and tulle, each being finished with a true lovers’ knot of matching velvet ribbon. The best man was Mr Staveley Ellis, of Wanganui. the groomsman, Mr Neville James, of Wanganui, and the usher, Rev. Allan Baxter, of Palmerston North.

A reception was held at the P.D.C. tearooms, which were decorated with autumn flowers and foliage. The bride’s mother received the guests wearing a graceful hostess gown of rust lace georgette with a shoulder spray of autumn tinted flowers and maidenhair fern. She wore a picture hat of black felt with black accessories to tone. The bride travelled in a college grey tailored frock with a short dark grey fur mess jacket, navy bat, shoes and accessories. During the signing of the register Miss L. McDonald sang “Where’er You Walk,” and at the reception solos were rendered by Miss K. Galbraith (Napier), Mrs M. Pearce, and Mr J. Emmett. Mr and Mrs Thomson will make their home in Palmerston North.
