CLOUDY TO OVERCAST. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 4. An extensive depression with the lowest pressure in the south is crossing the Dominion. The. forecast is for light to fresh northerly winds, later tending westerly or south-westerly. The weather will he cloudy to overcast with further intermittent rain, but with conditions improving to-morrow. Temperatures will he moderate and seas moderate but rising somewhat in the straits. RIVER GAUGE. Noon.—2ft. 6ins.
