FAIR AND MILD; RAIN LATER. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 3. The recent anti-cyclone -is centred near Chatham Island, while a depression is approaching from the central Tasman. The forecast is for gradually freshening northerly winds. The weather will be fair and mild at first, but with rain developing to-morrow in and west of the ranges. Slight to moderate seas. RIVER GAUGE. Noon.: —2ft. 9in.
