Produce Distributors Ltd., Palmerston North, report the following prices for this week according to quality and grade: Tomatoes, 2s 9d to 4s quarter case; quinces, 5s 6d to 8s; jam melons, 6s 6(1 to 8s 6d bag; potatoes, 6s cwt; onions, 10s cental, 5s sugar hag; cauliflowers, 10s 6d to 13s; Savoy cabbages, 4s 6d to 7s 6d super bags; celery, 5s to 8s case; lettuce, 4s 6d to 9s case;, ktimeras, 2|d to 3d lb; swedes, 5s super bag; carrots, 2s 6d to 3s 6d; parsnips, 3s to 4s 6d sugar hags; Icoks, 5s dozen; silver boot, 2s to 4s case; spinach, 5s to Bs. ease. All values are very firm. The Dominion Auctioneering Co., Ltd.,' Palmerston North, report receiving a good yarding of pigs at their sale on Thursday, and to a good attendance of buyers a total clearance was made at satisfactory prices. Small pigs, weaners, ond stores in particular showed' a distinct improvement on last week’s prices. Poultry also came forward in large numbers, there being a great demand for pullets. A special entry of 60 birds realised from 8s 6d to 9s 7d each. There was a corresponding increase in prices of table birds and laying liens. Vegetables were in large eupp.y, cauliflowers and cabbages in particular selling well. They quote as follows; Pigs: Best w'eaners, 12s to 16s: medium, 10s to 11s; slips, 14s to 17s; heavy stores, 30s to 355; light, 20s to 255; porkers, 35s to £2; heavy porkers, 41s to £os. Poultry: W.L. pullets, best, 8s 6d to 9s 7d; medium 5s to 7s eacti; heavy cockerels, 8s to 10s per pair; heavy 8.0. hens, 7s 6d to, 8s 6(1; best W.L. hen's, 4s to 6s; light hens, 3s to 3s 6d per pair; young ducks, 6s to 8s per pair; old ducks, 4s to 5s per pair. Produce: Cauliflowers, 7s to lls 9d; cabbages, Drumhoad, 5s to 6s 6d; SaVoy,. 4s to 6s per sack; leeks. 5s to 7s; pumpkins, 4s to 6s per sack; marrows, 2s to 4s per =ack; spinach, 3s to 6s per case: carrots.
