Waldegrave, of Tauranga, lias been visiting Palmerston North. Mrs Cyril ." King, of Fitzherbert Avenue,,is spending a holiday at Taupo. Miss E. E. Stephens, principal of the Palmerston North Girls’ High School, will spend the term holidays'in Otago. Mr and Mrs J. It., Galloway, Mr and Mrs It. P. Connell and Mr and Mrs C. B. Monro are Palmerston North visitors to Wellington. Miss J. Wellwood, of the staff of the Terrace End School, leaves to-morrow to spend the term holidays at her home in Hawke’s Bay. Mesdames Bradburn, of Auckland, Findlay, of Hamilton, and Huggins of Christchurch, were welcomed as visitors'at yesterday’s meeting of the Palmerston North League ot Mothers. Miss C. M. Gillies, oi the staff of the Palmerston North Girls’ High School, is • leaving to-night for Auckland, where she will spend the term holidays. ' ; ■ Miss J. Furric, who lias been relieving on the staff of the Palmerston North Girls’ High School since the departure of Miss L. Brown, is returning to Wellington. Miss M. L. Brown, of Wellington, has been appointed to fill the vacancy next term. Members of the staff of the Palmerston North Girls’ High School who are going away to their homes lor the term holidays are Misses J. Mcßae (Waikanae), S. 'Robinson, S. Balkind and M. J. Galvin (Christchurch), and M. Scott (Auckland). A pleasant time was spent yesterday afternoon when several of the night staff nurses at the' Hospital entertained to afternoon tea Nurse Colleen Stubbs who ■is to lie married shortly. Miss Stubbs was presented with a bouquet. Present at, the function in addition to the guest of honour were Sister Parr and Nurses Sloman, Crabbe, Mason, Stewart, Lean, McDiarmid, Trewavus, Cleary, and Thomas. Miss Freda Whittaker, who is shortly to be married, was presented with a spray of flowers by Mrs A. McPherson, president of the Palmerston North League of Mothers, at the league meeting yesterday, in appreciation of her willing assistance with the programmes on many occasions. Mrs McPherson conveyed the good wishes of the members for Miss Whittaker’s luturef
