WEATHER IN APRIL.
Although rain fell on 14 days during April, the total fall (3.3 Gin) was well below the average for that month during the 1931-40 period, which, works out at 5.22 in. In April, 1939, 5.88 in of rain were recorded in eight days. The maximum daily, fall last month—--I.3Bin—occurred on the 26th. Details of rainfall on the individual days, supplied by Mr J. C. Bolton, are as fellow: 2nd, .Oloin; 6th, 0.08; 7th, 0.10; 9th, 0.35; 10th, 0.29; 11th. 0.05; 12th, 0.10; 15th, 0.20; 16th, 0.03; 18th, 0.60; 20th, 0.01; 21st, 0.01; 26tli, 1.38; 28th, 0.10. Total, 3.36 in.
