It is a long time since a more impressive pacer than Chatmos has been seen in action, and bis win on Saturday was one of the best recorded in recent moiulis (says an exchange). From’ 24 yards behind in a field of 15 horses at Ashburton, lie began well, but the breaking < f a number of the limit division caused him to be checked. The manner in which be flew past his opposition in the last furlong to score an easy win was one of the outstanding features of a fine day s racing. By Wrack from Lady Superior, Chatmos has now won five races in as many starts.
