ACCIDENT AT MARTON. (By “Spectator.”) Tlio promising Ihree-yeur-old filly Bronze Lass injured a tendon while galloping at the Marton course , during the week-end and had to be destroyed. Full of Scotch failed to strike form last season in seven starts. Recently, however, he returned to form to win the Manawaru Hurdles at Te Aroha ,with 10.6. Enjoyment’s Entry. The entry of the young Whangarei jumper Enjoyment for the steeplechase events at F.gmont in preference to ' the hurdles came as a surprise. After running second to Bachelor King at his first appearance over hurdles, and then winning the next three in impressive style, it was expected that Enjoyment would be left at the smaller fences for a while. Enjoyment looks to be above the average and his displays in good company at fiawera will be closely watched. Jesse Owens Improves. Since going into the stable presided over so successfully this season .by L. A. Maidens, Jesse Owens has revealed .remarkable improvement, and his latest performances indicate he will reach the highest grade.
