HOLY TRINITY CHURCH.

The annual meeting of Holy Trinity Church Ladies’ Guild was held in the Parish Hall on Tuesday. Mrs B. P. Williams occupied the chair and there was a large attendance of members who stood in silence as a mark of respect to the memory of the late Mrs Barkwith and Mrs C. de Mnlmanche. The report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. The finances were shown to be in a sound condition. In the report reference was made to the loss sustained by the guild in the departure from the district of Mrs Swede, whose services had been acknowledged by a gift prior to her leaving. The year, it was stated, had been a very successful one. Thanks were extended to Mr R. R. Johnston for auditing the books. Tlie retiring officers were re-elected as follow:—President, Mrs It. G. Smith; vice-presidents, Mesdames R. R. Johnston, H. P. Horne, and B. P. Williams; guild secretary, Mrs J. T. Horne; flower section secretary, Mrs H. P. Horne. Mesdames Stace and J. Thomassen were elected to membership. Members discussed the advisability, in view of the war and the large number of extra appeals for funds, of holding the annual bazaar and hull) show on the same scale as in previous years. It was unanimously decided to carry on as usual and strive to make the function as successful as possible. Members did not think it advisable to abandon the flower section, the general opinion being that this display of fresli flowers was much appreciated after the winter months and added to the attractiveness of the bazaar, which it was further decided would be held near the middle of September. Rev. B. P. Williams was present for part of the meeting and congratulated the guild op the excellent report and balance-sheet which lie said, showed that considerable work had been quietly accomplished during the yftar.
