BULLS.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) BULLS. May 1. The annual meeting ol parishioners of the Anglican Church, Bulls district, was held on Monday, Rev. N. S. Barnett presiding. The church warden’s report stated that, the year had been without any special expenditure on any major works, and the statement of accounts shows the routine expenses for the year, It commenced with a credit balance of £67 8s lOd, and ended with a credit balance of £2B 17s lOd. The war had affected church efforts materially ,and the authorities had decided to suspend the collections for tho Cathedral Fund for the present. Efforts were now devoted to raising funds for church work with the Forces. This effort largely accounted for the special offertories increasing from £ls 14s 9d last year to £6l 18s lid this year. The annual flower show produced a profit of £9l, and (lie garden party so kindly arranged in Mr 9 T. R. Willis’s garden also produced a sum of £2O. The secretary (Miss Olga Levelt) and the treasurer (Mrs H. J. Hendry) had carried on their work most efficiently; Mrs Barnett had successfully carried on the Sunday School, and lately had been joined by Mr Holingdrake; Mrs Barnett had also taken her share in playing the organ, with Misses Jean Wilson and May Kearney and Mrs Carson. The Misses Levett, as usual, had attended to the flowers and altar linen throughout tho year. The special effort which parishioners must make during the year was to collect funds to paint the church, which work had now become necessary. It was hoped to raise an amount sufficient to accomplish this, which will probably cost from £SO to £6O. Mr A. K. Drew spoke warmly of the vicar’s work, and added that the greatly increased interest in parochial affairs was due to his enthusiasm. The following, officers wore elected : Vicar’s churchwarden, Mr ’ R. Wilson; parishioners’ churchwarden. Mr L. G. M. Taverner; hon. treasurer, Mrs H. J. Hendry; hon. secretary, Miss Olga Levett; 'members of vestry, Mrs J. Ellery. (Matahiwi), Mrs Rowan (Sanson), Messrs ft. D. Flower, R. Mackay, A. K. Drew, E. Coleman, R. O. Dalrymple, A. P. Howard (Greatford) and others ex officio.
