TIAKITAHUNA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) TIAKITAIIUNA. May 1. There was a large attendance at the hall when the Women’s Institute celebrated their eighth birthday. The time was spent in dancing, interspersed with items by the Sundborn trio and dancing by Misses McLean and Simpson, accompanied on the pipes by Mr N. Cruden. Mrs H. D. McEwen (president) welcomed the guests and mentioned that, instead of having a birthday cake the money had been donated to patriotic funds. Trophies wore presented to the winners of the year’s competitions. The duties of M.G. wore carried out by Mr C. Crouclier. Mr W. Rowland lias returned from a short visit to Wellington. Mr J. Lahore lias returned from hospital after undergoing an operation. Mr J. Yule has also been in hospital, whore lie lias been treated for severe burns.
