HOCKEY MATCHES.
NONE FOR SHIELD AND CUP. Per Press Assoeiatibn. CHRISTCHURCH, May 1. Tntor-provincial hockey matches for the New Zealand Championship Shield and Nordon Cup will not he played this season, according to a decision reached at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Hockey Association. It decided,,..also to express its wish that all other competition matches, should he held. The election of the principal officers resulted: Patron, the GovernorGeneral; president, Mr H. S. J. Goodman; secretary, Mr W. H. Down; management committee, Messrs R. Grade, H. Tlirop, C. S. Bellamy, A. Stoneycr, C. C. Holland, K. Hamilton, and W. Williamson.
