CONSERVING DOLLARS.
Received. May I, 9.15 a.m. CANBERRA, May 1. I Tlio Treasurer. (Mr P. C. Spender) announces that Australian holders of k shares in 20 specified American corn--17 jianies have been ordered to dispose of ! their shares within the next six months | and thereafter lodge the proceeds in' f! dollars in the Commonwealth Bank in New York. They will ultimately receive payment in Australian currency. This move is designed to conserve foreign exchange.
