MARTON, April 29. The results of Saturday’s Rugby football gan os played in the Rangitikei district were: —Senior: Old Boys 7 v. Hunter* ville 3; Bulls 34 v.. Rata 5., Junior: Old Boys 9 v. Hunterville 6; Rata 11 v. Bulls 9. Thirds: Old Boys 6 a-. Morton District High School 3. In the Morton Old BoysIlunlcrvillc encounter, A. Duncan scored a try for the former team and Lewis kicked a field goal. For Hunterville, Croft scored a .try. 1 Mr G. L. Marshall presided at the annual meeting of the Marton branch of the Wellington Acclimatisation Society. The proposal of a close season for ducks was discussed. Mr. Marshall considered that shortening the season would not have any effect, 'the damage was done in the first fortnight of. the shooting season. Exception was taken to the amount of money spent on the liberation of pheasants in the district. It was stated that the money could have been used to better purpose.
