AOKAUTERE
(From Our Own Correspondent.) AOKAUTERE, April 29. Sotticri! of tiro district gave freely towards the Paddy's market organised by the 'Women’s Institute to raise funds to send parcels to the troops overseas. A splendid display of meat, 'vegetables, cake, jams, pieklcß, sweets and sewing-work met with a ready sale. Those in charge of the stalls were: Meat, Mrs R. R. Scott; vegetables, Mrs-K. Field; cakes, .jam, etc., Mrs N. Cliowen and Mrs S. Lankshcar; sweets, Misses H. Lhnkslioar, E. Peterson, P. Jonscn; children’s bran tub, Mis 3E. Blenkiron; competitions,'Mrs Mackie, Mrs R. Tate, Miss E. Anderson, Miss I. Anderson and Mr R. Tate. Mrs W. Hutchinson won the competition for spongo cake. Two geographical cinematograph films, ‘Nia-'-gara Falls in Winter’s Mantle” and “The Canadian Rockies,” were' shown by Mr W. R. Ilopcroft. Donations acknowledged by Mrs D. Scott, the Institute president, were received from Mrs Field, Mrs Mitchell, Mrs Orr, Miss E. Orr, Miss Orr, Mrs S. Lankshoar, Mrs Atkinson, Mrs Gosling, Mrs W. . Creswell, and" Mr P. Wycherley 10s. Music for the dancing was supplied by Messrs M .and J. Lankshear, with Mr J. Woodley as M.C.
