ACHILLES SAILOR’S VISIT.
A former pupil of the Palmerston North Technical School, Petty-Officer C. Frew, of H.M.S. Achilles, visited his old school on Monday and was enthusiastically received by the pupils. Petty-Officer Frew gave a talk to the school on his experiences on board ship since war was declared, and also during the River Plate battle, in which he was on deck throughout. His account was listened to with great •interest, and at the conclusion A. Russell, the head boy prefect, moved a vote of thanks. He also expressed the good wishes of the school both to Petty-Officer Frew and to Signalman Higson, another old boy of the school who is also on H.M.S. Achilles.
