RUGBY IN CALIFORNIA.
INVITATION TO TEAM. Received, April 30. 11.0 a.m. SYDNEY, April 30. The Californian Rugby Union has invited a combined Australian and New Zealand team to visit California early in 1941, with a return visit in June of the same year. The proposal was sdbmitted to the New South. Wales Rugby Union by Mr W. Heslehurst, a former Sydney referee, whose position takes him periodically to America. The New South Wales Union decided to ask for further details, hut informed Mr Heslehurst that an Australian team would not contemplate making the trip while the war was on.
