T ~ .. .MARTOX, April 27. In (he Rangitikci Cricket Association’s lcprcnentative matches of the past season the hut of hatting averages was headed by . •. Marshall with an average of 39 runs per tnniugis, D. A. Cameron and P. L. Marshall being next with 32. In the howling, D. Coleman, with an average of three rums per wicket, headed the list, T. Whittle being next with 8.2 runs per wicket. H. F. Low took the most wickets, having nine at an average of 14 runs. In a match between the Hawkcstonc Coif ( bib and the Halcombo Club, plaved at the formers links on Saturday, the home team won by a margin of 18 matches to 10. W hen the Rangitikci Golf Club team visited the Marton Golf Club’s linko at the week-end the visitors were beaten by 16 matches to 12. Rev. E. Chambers conducted the induction eemce of Rev. C. B. Jordan at the i lartoii Methodist Church. Mr Jordan was supported by the circuit stewards, Messrs b C. Laurensen and W. R. McXae. The charge to the new minister was made by Mr Chambers and the address was given by Rev. J. Martin. Aramoho. Following the service a social was given, when speeches of welcome were made by Rev. W' ?f inc (Ministers’ Association), Rev. Mr Chambers (on behalf of Metliodist Churches in the , area), Airs A. Watts ,Laches Guild), Messrs I\. Fear (Sunday schools -and Bible classes), C. Harvey (trust), J. Decke (finance committee), and Laurensen (representing the circuit). An orchestra has been formed at th© Marton District High School.
