RURAL RAKINGS. Waikato Stock Offerings. Large yardings of most classes of stock continue to conic forward at Waikato saleyards. As is weuai at this time of the year, heavy entries of boner cows arc coming on to tbc market, and so far the congestion at tbc works ha? not affected prices to any great extent. Large offerings of dairy heifers are also being [sinned at some of the main centres. Wanganui Wool Yield. The best return since the 1936-37 season, the gross proceeds from the sale of wool in the Wanganui district under t lie war purchase scheme iiis season amount to £1.319,000. The number of bales sold was 74.231, the average price a bale was £l7 15s. sd. and tbc average price a pound was 11. Slid. The average price a bale the previous season was £l2 19s 8d and in the 1937-38 season £l3 14s 3d. Good Honey Season. The 1939-40 honey season in the Waikato has been completed. In some parts of the district the production has been better than the average, while on,the whole the crop is considerably better than it was for the previous season. One outstanding feature of the season is that the honey produced lias been of an exceptionally high quality. Barley Supplies. The Primary Industries Controller (Mr A. H. Cockayne) advises that large supplies of barley are expectcife-to arrive at New Plymouth about the third week ill May, aiid at Wellington about tbc end ot May.' Further supplies are expected in Auckland about the first week in Mav and about throe weeks, later.— Press Association.
