VISIT TO HOSPITAL
PREMIER’S INTEREST. , After arriving by air from AVellington, the Prime Atinister (Hon. P. Fraser) paid a brief visit to the Palmerston North Hospital on Saturday in his capacity of Minister of Health. He was met by the chairman of the Hospital Board (Mr J. A. Nash), who was accompanied by Airs Nash, Air J. H. North (medical superintendent), Aliss L. AI. Banks (matron), Aliss L. A. Francis (sister in | charge of 11,10 Nurses’ Home), and Sister V. Bright (sub-matron). Mr J. liodgejis, Ai.P., Air A. E. Mansford (Mayor) and Airs Alansford, and Air J. R. liar die (town clerk) met the official party a’t the Alilson aerodrome. I Accompanying the Prime Alinister was Airs F’raser, Hon. FT Jones (Alinister of Defence) and Airs Jones, and Alajor-General J. E. Duigau (Chief of ; the General Staff). A guard ot honour was provided by nurses. In welcoming Air Fraser, Air Nash congratulated him on his selection as Prime Alinister and said lie had been Alinister of Health for a Jong time. He had always been most helpful, and the Hospital Board recognised that without his aid it could not have accomplished' what it had done. It was a very great pleasure to welcome him and the other members of the partv. Air F’raser said he had come to know the Palmerston North Hospital Board fairly well in his term as Alinister, and could say there was no more efficient board in New Zealand, both in regard to administration and finance. Tlie party then inspected the buildings erected in Air Fraser’s term as Alinister of Health, and the new emergency ward, now being completed.
