IMPROVING; COLD TO-NIGHT. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 29. An intense anti-cyclone is moving on to the Dominion from the Tasman Sea, the highest .pressures being in tlie south. Forecast: Moderate southerly winds. A few further showers on the east coast, but otherwise improving. Temperatures continuing cold, with some frosts to-night. Seas moderating, but with a considerable southerly swell. RIVER GAUGE. Noon.—-3ft. 3in.
