(From Our Own Correspondent.) LINTON, April 26. At the annual meeting of llio Linton District Miniature (Rifle Club tlic report described the past season as a successful one, J. Christensen won the A grade individual aggregate cup and also tied for tlie. .Ten kins Cup. The teams also acquitted themselves reasonably well. Mr I*’. St. Colomba's Anglican Church held its annual harvest festival service recently, when the church was decorated with flowers, etc., anil a plentiful supply of fruits of the harvest, which were later sent to All Saints’ Children’s Home. Members of All Saints’ Church choir came out to lead the singing, while Mr J. Holmes Rnnniclcs officiated at the organ. Canon Woodward, assisted by Revs. Mr Davidson and D. do Cnndole. took the service, after which the visitors were entertained at supper in the church hall. Canon Woodward and Mr .T. Batchclar presided at the annual church meeting wlpph was also held. Mr fl. Rix-was re-elected vicar's warden and Mr ,T. Balclielar people's wiydcn. The committee remains llic same as last year's. A vote of thanks was extended to Mr Rix and Mr Bafrhclnr for their past services, also to the lay readers who have come out at all times to conduct services, and the organist (Miss Rix) and Sunday School teachers. Miss Young was accorded thanks for her good work in arranging the card evenings. Mr and Mrs G. Merrimnn are visiting Wellington. Mr and Mrs Mcßreaty have boon visiting the Exhibition. Mr P. Lauridson drove ihp school bus, filled with children to the Exhibition, on Wednesday, Mr Sohwabe and Miss Totlman accompanying them.
