MATAROA’S SUCCESS.
Alataroa, winner of the Bosley Memorial, the principal Hat handicap at VVaverley on Saturday, scored his first success, of the season. lie has had 12 previous starts and his best (wrformanee was a second at Woodvillc to Dainty Sheila. Malaroa is trained by A. E. Neale at Built, for Mr M. Millar, of Palmerston North. He showed considerable promise last season, and seemed to appreciate the easy track in the Bosley Memorial, for ho was always travelling well and won with something to spare after stalling oil' a strong challenge by Winsome Lit. Mataroa’s sire, Ollatrim, is little known; lie is bv J’olydamon from Royal Academy, by Masterpiece from Rose Shield, by Hotchkiss, (flow, the dam of Malaroa is by Mountain Knight from Rarama, by San Fran from Fairy Gold by Gold Reef.
