(From Our Own C’orrcspondcni.) OTAKI. April 27. Air and Airs IT. Cockrell, who have been in Otaki for many years, and who have now decided to take up their residence in Wellington, wore publicly entertained on Thursday and made (lie recipient.! of several gifts, cheques being given by the citizens, and the Fire Hoard, while the pi re Brigade and the Plunket Society were also represented. Owing to the resignation of Air If. Cockrell as superintendent ol the hire Brigade, Deputy-Superintendent. Alathio has been appointed to the position, while Foreman W. Bills has been appointed deputysuperintendent.
