The first official intimation that anti-aircraft guns were in action in Norway mid fighters were being engaged by the Allied forces is given in an Air Ministry communique. “Vigorous offensive action by a large number of R.A.F. aircraft against enemy bases in Norway and Denmark continued throughout Thursday and last night,” states the communique.

The Royal Air Force last night again bombed Stavanger aerodrome and ten large supply ships in Oslo Fiord, also oil depots. Direct hits were observed.

The British fighters in Norway landed on a frozen lake which was successfully converted into a temporary air base despite enemy bombing attacks.
