EFFICIENCY CUP.

YOUNG FARMERS’ COMPETITION. The results of the Efficiency Cup competition among Young Farmers’ Clubs in the Manawatu district were announced bv the secretary (Mr H. de O. Chamberlain) at the annual meeting of delegates to the Manawatu Young Farmers’ District Committee, last evening. The cup is awarded ior the club showing the best results in increases in membership, attendance, promptitude ill replying to correspondence and keenness in participating in district activities.

The ltongotea Club, with 2G2 points out of 300, was first, the Waituna Club, with 256 points, second, and the Levin Club, with 251 points, third. Mr Chamberlain said that ltongotea had won the cup by showing extraordinary promptitude in replying to correspondence, not being afraid to bring up matters, which they thought should be brought up, and very keen participation in district affairs. The cup was presented to Mr ,J. H. Gibbons, chairman of the ltongotea Club. Mention was also made of the good performance of the Waituna Club, a young organisation, and the Levin Club. Mr Chamberlain said that during the year the membership of the ltongotea Club had increased from 24 to 56 that of the Waituna Club from 17 to 28, and that of Levin from 45 to GO.
