There will be no increase in third party insurance rates during the next P2 months, the .Minister of Transport announced to-night. “We have just managed to hold our own during the past 12 months,” said Air Semple. “There have been increases in claims in respect of some classes of motor-vehicles and decreases in other classes. The position might be termed satisfactory if any person can be satisfied with a. state of affairs that results in the loss of half a million pounds to the community eacli year. This is only the cost of personal injury accidents' resulting in claims under the Third Party Risks Act. It the cost of property damage were included the figure would exceed a million pounds a year.”
