HARD BUT JUST.
COMMENT IN PRESS. (From Daventry.) The early London Press comments on the Budget accord it a cordial reception, all newspapers laying emphasis oil tho fact that it indicates the willingness of the British people to bear whatever burdens the war may impose. The London Times comments: It is a hard but just Budget. In a broadcast, Sir John Simon reminded his listeners that it was the most expensive war of all time, entailing an expenditure of £5.500.000 a day.
