PETROL RATIONING
AUSTRALIAN ALTERNATIVE. CANBERRA, April 23. The Federal Treasurer (Mr P. C. Spender) addressed a conference of petrol and motor interests to-day. He explained that the Commonwealth Government favoured as an alternative to rationing petrol a-flat increase in petrol taxation with rebates for tho >e able to prove that petrol is required essentially for business.
