RED CROSS SOCIETY
APPEAL FOR FUNDS. A meeting of the executive committee of the Feilding sub-centre of the New Zealand Red Cross Society was held on Monday evening. The treasurer’s statment was read and accounts passed for payment. It was reported that the financial result of the street stall was £7 11s 2d. The promoters were thanked for their services. Dona-
tions from Mrs Burrell and Hon. J. G. Cobbe were gratefully acknowledged. The offer of Mrs .F. Mills and Miss M. Petrie to conduct a shop day every month in aid of the local Red Cross funds was accepted with thanks. Consideration of Mrs Green’s report on the Dominion conference, at which she was the sub-centre’s delegate, was held over. Correspondence dealing with the Red Cross Appeal for £250,000 for the Sick and Wounded Fund, which is to he launched on May 12, was dealt with. The secretary (Mrs Scott) was appointed to attend tlic conference of dele-
gates to be held in Palmerston North which will discuss the work of raising the amount required. Aiter the conference the local sub-centre will, probably meet to consider its part in the appeal.
